about
To Become is the first album by Outwards
I wrote all the songs between 2015 and 2016, before the band was formed. The purpose of this project was to form a band around the aesthetic established by the songs, to perform them on stage but also to rework them as a band. Each members have brought their own ideas and the whole things become much greater than just a solo album project.
To Become is a concept album inspired by a lot of the event that happend around the world at this time. We follow the story of one character, totally overhelmed by his environnement. Songs after songs, this person fall in a deep depression and paranoia.
This is, at this time, the most ambitious musical project I have ever done, and this is also the one I am the most proud of.
We all sincerely hope that you’d love this album as much as we do.

J'avais un peu négligé ce groupe dans ma collection. Pas toujours facile d'approche. Comment dire ? Les morceaux procèdent essentiellement par ruptures - souvent brutales. A la première écoute, vous êtes désarçonné parce que les titres ressemblent à une suite d'amorces - toutes plus extraordinaires les unes que les autres cela dit - et votre cerveau, qui s'attend à la reprise tôt ou tard d'un motif déjà perçu est complètement paumé... Une fois qu'on sait, tout va mieux...
