1.
Far away in oceans Somewhere there's a lighthouse An isle to keep us safe I can't remember each time you said to me to "keep a pear for the thirst" I guess it was too bright for me to get This quiet land won't last Slowly the island shrank And started to feel too small We were like brothers Sharing laughs and fights And in a blink, it faded Ten years have passed I've left our isle apart On the edge of a cliff I feel my island drift And your light flicker Now your smiles look tired And your eyes seem darker But I may be too far I'm feeling on a rush To catch up every last sparkles On this long goodbye Tell me what to do now What's the point of it all When you will be away
2.
Youth 04:06
Days are passing by at the speed of light, Like people, places and you This old smell of summer still follows us Like a collection of absent faces A smile, a glance, a laugh and a fight When things were simple A spark, a glimpse, a try and we might Be unstoppable A friend, a lie, a love and a lost What a strange game to play A plan, a dream, has collapsed again And it all start again Each steps remains as an new snapshot A smile, a glance, a laugh and a fight When things were simple A spark, a glimpse, a try and we might Be unstoppable A friend, a lie, a love and a lost What a strange game to play A plan, a dream, has collapsed again And it all start again

Walk with us And spread out our words Think for us We’ll dictate your thoughts Lie for us We’re the voice of truth Pray for us Let the blinds guide you Hate with us We’ll taught you who to fuck Die for us Martyrs make good sales Don’t dare oppose us ‘Cause good is our flag We will crush you If we need so Oh, we will crush you For your sake
4.
This raft is all I’ve got With no smile left on my face It’s built from my own failures With no one’s help, I swear This raft is my misery With no lifebelt nor anchor It’s a floating freak With no home base, for sure See the dusk It's the course of all ships No matter how strong the wind blows This raft is my wreck With no hope for reconciliation It slowly drifts into the storm With the strangest calm, I hope I can't accept I can drown, I can't accept I can drown, I can't accept I can drown... See the dusk It's the course of all ships No matter how hard the waves strike I can't accept I can drown, I can't accept I can drown, I can't accept I can drown... But there’s no lighthouse And no halo to follow Only thunders and lightnings And there's no more track to come back Nor words for rescue Just the cold feel of the ocean Drifting into the storm Breaking the waves Before I drown See the dusk It's the course of all ships No matter how cold the sea is
5.
Lost at Sea 04:30
It's been a while since you took the sea And I've been writing the tales of yours A routine as remains Days have flown like words In each line there's a part of me You've lost at sea Drown in memories Hope is a curse For those who remain And each day I'm scanning The deep blue for a sign I know you'll be back At least I hope so Something approach Bore by the waves Swell by the sea It was such a long wait No message No Answers Nothing My bottles come back to me Come back... To me...
6.
As Expected 10:39
Feelings, Feelings we won't repress Twisted, Twisted thoughts that make us feel real And people start to whirl As expected Sparkles, Sparkles that burst into (flames) Whispers, Whispers that make us go insane When people start to whirl There's no surprise to be swept away Everything went as expected 'Cause we’re all murderers in soul We sharp our knives 'till it's time to strike Let’s burn our houses and families To remain in the history of violence When people start to whirl Nicely pushed By a friend of ours There’s no surprise to be swept away Everything went as expected
7.
And time has come, When the last hope finally sank, To bring closure to this endless day Now we are facing our storm While the tide grows Still the wave goes And memories crumble When denial seems safer Trapped into floods of torment While the tide grows Drowning our island Still the wave goes Wiping off the shore Still the tide grows Feel the sea rise Let the wave goes Embrace the surge

about

"From Isles Apart" is the result of almost four years of effort. The first material dates to 2018. At that time, the formation of the first album was floundering, with each member choosing to focus on their professional pursuits.

After a break, the group reformed as a trio. Maxime Biron is back as drummer and Jean-Loup Pecquais on guitar and vocals. The two fellows are then joined and reinforced by Victor Gourgeaud on bass.

Musically, "From Isles Apart" is in a certain continuity with Outwards' first album "To Become", mixing rock, pop, and progressive influences. Despite reforming as a trio, the band has retained its characteristic rich and cinematic arrangements.

The album is built around the theme of separation. Because of our personal stories as well as the world pandemic, this axis of reflection has gradually been immersed in the music and the lyrics.
Each track proposes new atmospheres, from atmospheric pop ballads (Isles Apart, Lost at Sea) to long, dark and sinuous pieces (Poem for a Raft, As Expected). "From Isles Apart" is a nostalgic and melancholic journey into the solitude of the human soul.
